Kids
A visit to the dentist and dental hygienist is free for children up to 18 years old.
The dentist
Your children from the age of 2 are very welcome to come to us for a first check-up. We check the teeth and, if necessary, provide advice about brushing, the possible use of pacifiers and nutrition. Unfortunately, cavities in primary teeth are common. Primary teeth have a thinner enamel layer, which allows cavities to break through more quickly and become deep quickly. It is therefore very important that your child(ren) have a check-up every 6 months.
Dentist Wanda van Lingen has gained a lot of experience in treating children and can therefore put your children at ease.
We do a number of things to make the visit as nice as possible for your child:
- We have a special children's play corner in the waiting room where your children can play
- Your child can brush the teeth of toy donkey Billy during the check-up
- Dentist Wanda tells your child in understandable language what she is doing during the check-up and lets your child watch as much as possible
- After the check-up, your child can choose a gift
- We also have fun coloring pages and teeth cleaning packages for your children
The dental hygienist
Because cavities can form more quickly in primary teeth, it is extra important that your children brush properly. We advise parents to continue brushing for up to 10 years. We refer your children to the dental hygienist regularly. The dental hygienist has completed a 4-year education in which, among other things, they are taught to provide good brushing instructions and to remove calculus. Plenty of time is taken to evaluate brushing with you and your children and make adjustments where necessary, so that cavities can be prevented in the future.
In general, we notice that children who go to the dental hygienist brush better, are more motivated and have less chance of developing cavities.
A visit to the dental hygienist is free up to the age of 18.
